Our Summer 07

Ok so here is our summer is a short few pictures.

Jeanette turns 20!

Jeanette came over to celebrate her 20th birthday with us. It was on Sept 15th. Jourdan had bought her a special gift before he left and she came to see what it was. He had built a Missionary Bear from Build-a-bear workshop and had a special message recorded just for her. Now when she is missing Jourdan all she has to do is hold her bear and squeeze his paw....ahhhh.

Homecomming

Justine went to homecomming this year. She and her date went bowling and then he came and picked her up and they headed out to eat and then the dance. She had a fun time.

For our Fall Break we took a family mini vacation for one day. First we headed to the Discovery Gateway then hopped over to the Clark Planetarium where we saw two shows. Then we went to the Lion House Pantry for a yummy lunch and a tour of the Beehive house. Then it was off to the Living Planet Aquarium to pet the sting rays. Then to finish off the day we visisted Thanksgiving Points Dinosaur Museum. It was quite a fun day!

Fall Walk

Meilin and Ron went on a walk. While they were gone they caught a rare form of Rhino Infintitus. :)

So Jourdan left today for the great state of Ohio. I tracked him on Delta's flight tracker and watched him land. It was a bit of a heart jerker to see that my first-born son was 1500 miles away from home. He is, as we are, excited that the time has arrived for him to finally leave. It was a bit hard for me today. Something with the fact that we are not looking at the same mountains anymore, he is in a different time zone and I have no reference point when it comes to Ohio. Well he is in the Lords hands now and I know he will be fine, it is just that those apron strings are bleeding a bit from being cut today.

Now we look forward to hearing about his experiences in Ohio.....Can't wait for that first letter!

Labor Day

On Labor Day we had a family picnic with the whole family including Jeanette. It was great to have the family together again. After dinner the kids played a game of Bocce ball. Then we all played 4-square. Andrew had never played before but he soon cought on and was soon the King of the square! He does play a good round of pac-man that really gets Meilin laughing. The evening ended with chalk drawings on the front walkway, a fun remembrance of the evining. Only bad thing it rained during the night and it was gone before morning.

MTC here he comes!

Before we dropped Jourdan off at the MTC we took the opportunity to have one last family dinner together. Alyse was able to get off work for only an hour and she was able to join us at Abpplebees. It was a great lunch!(ask Mitchell) Then we were off to Purple Turtle to pick up Andrew and then finally the MTC. Jourdan was a bit nervous at this point and just wanted to get there and start his mission! After the quick (yes it was very quick) movie we said our sad/happy good-byes and he was off!
